Ruaka Springs Court

Ruaka Springs Court is a residential apartment complex located in Ruaka, Kiambu County, Kenya. On 23 April 2021, Urban Renewed Limited conducted an electrical power audit following concerns about high electricity bills. The audit assessed the electrical meter boards, power distribution system and electrical installations in 13 selected apartments to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective measures.

We were engaged to inspect the electrical installation, investigate potential causes of high electricity bills, assess electrical safety and distribution arrangements, and provide technical recommendations for improving the system.

Audit Findings and Scope

• Inspection of the main electrical meter boards, incoming power supply and metering arrangements.
• Assessment of electrical wiring, cable management, protective devices and distribution boards.
• Inspection of earthing systems, neutral terminations and electrical safety deficiencies.
• Assessment of electrical installations and typical appliance usage in 13 selected apartments.
• Evaluation of power distribution, phase load balancing and potential causes of high electricity bills.
• Recommendations for electrical rectification, improved earthing, circuit identification and prepaid metering.
