Golden Africa Kenya Limited — Annual Electrical Power Audit & Energy Optimisation

Urban Renewed Limited undertook an annual electrical power audit at Golden Africa Kenya Limited’s manufacturing facility along Mombasa Road, Machakos County. The project focused on assessing the performance, safety, reliability and energy utilisation of the facility’s electrical infrastructure, covering the 66 kV incoming supply, 11 kV distribution network, transformers, main low-voltage distribution system, power-factor correction equipment, standby generation and production plant electrical installations.

The assessment included electrical loading and phase-balance analysis, inspection of distribution equipment, review of power-factor performance, and identification of electrical safety, maintenance and energy-efficiency improvement opportunities. Power data logging forms part of the assessment scope, to support the assessment of operating load profiles and recommendations for maximum-demand management, transformer utilisation, power-quality improvement and efficient electrical system operation.
