Fish Eagle Inn & Camp Site is a budget-friendly resort located along Moi South Lake Road on the southern shores of Lake Naivasha, Naivasha, Kenya. In August 2021, Urban Renewed Limited conducted an electrical audit to investigate high electricity bills and assess the existing electrical infrastructure, including the potential integration of a solar power system.

We were engaged to inspect the resort’s electrical installations, assess power distribution and loading, identify electrical safety deficiencies, and provide technical recommendations to improve electrical safety, reliability and energy management.

Audit Findings and Scope

• Inspection of the main electrical meter board, generator and changeover panel, and main low-voltage distribution board.
• Assessment of electrical distribution arrangements serving guest rooms, the kitchen, restaurant, office, car wash and container shops.
• Inspection of electrical wiring, distribution boards, cable management, earthing and protective arrangements.
• Review of electrical loading schedules and typical equipment loads across the inspected areas.
• Identification of deficiencies involving earthing, circuit labelling, distribution boards and electrical safety.
• Recommendations for electrical rectification, improved earthing, load distribution and phased solar power system integration.
